Mayani Secondary School

Mayani Secondary School is a secondary school at Mayani, in Dedza District in the Central Region of Malawi. Mayani is one of the district's smaller market towns, with a post office, police station, shops and a market. It gives its name to the Dedza Mayani constituency, which the Malawi Electoral Commission's 2025 register of centres for Dedza District Council divides into the Chitundu and Chilanga wards. In Malawi, secondary education runs from Form 1 to Form 4. Pupils are admitted after completing Standard 8 of primary school and sitting the Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination (PSLCE), and the course ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE). Both examinations are set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Dedza District lies between Mozambique and Lake Malawi, south of Lilongwe, and had a population of 830,512 at the 2018 census. Its administrative centre, Dedza, is on the M1 road about 85 km from Lilongwe. The district contains the Chongoni Rock Art Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and forest reserves including Dedza Mountain and Chongoni, and it is known for Dedza Pottery ceramics.
