Balamanja CDSS

Balamanja CDSS is a community day secondary school near the village of Sangala in Zomba District, in Malawi's Southern Region. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Community day secondary schools grew out of the former distance-education centres, which were converted into secondary schools in 1998. Zomba District covers 2,363 km² and had 746,724 residents at the 2018 census. It is bounded by Machinga District to the north, Mozambique to the east, and Phalombe, Mulanje and Chiradzulu districts to the south. The Shire Highlands run through it, and the Zomba Plateau and Lake Chilwa are its best-known natural features; maize is the main crop and tobacco the main cash crop. The city of Zomba, capital of the Nyasaland Protectorate and of independent Malawi until 1975, lies about 75 km north of Blantyre on the M3.
