Zomba Private Primary and Secondary School

Zomba Private Primary and Secondary School is a private school on Namiwawa Road in Zomba, Malawi, which, as its name indicates, teaches at both primary and secondary level. In the Malawian system, primary education runs from Standard 1 to Standard 8 and ends with the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE). Secondary education runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE). Both examinations are set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Tuition has been free in government primary schools since 1994; private schools charge fees. Zomba lies at the foot of the Zomba Plateau in Malawi's Southern Region. It was the capital of the British Central Africa and Nyasaland protectorates, and of independent Malawi until the seat of government moved to Lilongwe. The city had 105,013 residents at the 2018 census and is home to the University of Malawi. The plateau above it rises to about 1,800 m, is largely forested and is used for hiking, birdwatching and rock climbing. The M3 road links Zomba with Blantyre to the south. The school has not published its fees, term dates or admission arrangements online, so phoning ahead before travelling is advisable.
