Providence Girls Secondary School is a Catholic girls' boarding school in Mulanje district, Southern Region, Malawi. It is a National Secondary School, the top tier of Malawi's selection system, and is owned by the Roman Catholic Church. It is among the strongest performing schools in the country. In the 2025 Malawi School Certificate of Education examinations it recorded 34.79 per cent distinctions, placing it in the national top ten of the National Schools table. Its graduates appear 48 times in the 2024 University of Malawi selection list and 28 times in the 2026 Kamuzu University of Health Sciences list. In 2023 it won season four of the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation's national schools quiz, Top of the Class, beating Dedza Government Secondary School 49-46 in a final held at MUBAS against a field of twenty schools, taking a K1.2 million prize and the trophy. It also took part in MACRA's Safer Internet Day cybersecurity outreach in 2024. The school has marked its eightieth anniversary, attended by the then President Joyce Banda, with a procession of alumnae from the 1963 to 1973 cohorts. Joyce Banda is herself a former pupil. A hostel was destroyed by fire in early 2018 and rebuilt with German donor support.
