Ndirande Hill Secondary

Ndirande Hill Secondary is a secondary school in Ndirande, a township on the north-eastern side of Blantyre, Malawi, below Ndirande Mountain. In Malawi, secondary education runs from Form 1 to Form 4. At the end of Form 4 students sit the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations, set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Secondary schools in Malawi include government schools, community day secondary schools (CDSS), which grew out of the former distance-education centres converted in 1998, and privately run schools. Ndirande is a large, densely settled township, and Ndirande Mountain is one of the peaks that ring the city, along with Mount Soche, Michiru Mountain and Chiradzulu Mountain. Blantyre was founded in 1876 through the missionary work of the Church of Scotland. It is Malawi's second-largest city and its centre of finance and commerce, and the 2018 census counted about 800,000 residents.
