Mlanda Girls Secondary School

Mlanda Girls Secondary School is a girls' boarding secondary school at Lizulu in Ntcheu District, in the Central Region of Malawi. It is one of the country's national secondary schools. The Ministry of Education's Central West Education Division Form One selection book for 2022 lists Mlanda Girls in Part A, National Secondary Schools, marked as having full boarding facilities and with a total Form One capacity of 80. The same book names 48 girls from the division who were selected to the school that year, all as boarders. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Form 1 places are allocated on the results of the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE). National secondary schools recruit from across the country and generally take the highest-scoring candidates, while district and community day secondary schools draw more locally. Lizulu is a trading centre on the M1, the main road between Lilongwe and Blantyre, in Ntcheu District, which borders Mozambique. It is regarded as the headquarters of the Ngoni, the district's dominant people, whose paramount chief is the Inkosi ya Makosi Gomani, and, with Njolomole and Tsangano, it is known for growing vegetables such as cabbages, tomatoes and potatoes. In the Malawi Electoral Commission's 2025 register of centres, Lizulu is a ward of the Ntcheu North constituency in Ntcheu District Council.
