Minga Secondary School

Minga Secondary School is a secondary school in Lilongwe, Malawi. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4. Pupils are selected for secondary places on their results in the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education at the end of Standard 8, and the course ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). The MSCE is the qualification used for entry to universities, teacher training and nursing colleges and other tertiary institutions. Alongside conventional government and private secondary schools, the system includes community day secondary schools (CDSS), which grew out of the former distance-education centres converted in 1998. Lilongwe, on the Lilongwe River in the Central Region, has been Malawi's capital since 1975, when it succeeded Zomba. It had 989,318 residents at the 2018 census and is laid out in numbered areas, from Area 1 to Area 58, around the Old Town and the government complex at Capital Hill. Lilongwe City Council governs the city, while the surrounding rural district is administered by Lilongwe District Council.
