Bwaila Secondary School

Bwaila Secondary School is a secondary school in Area 5, Lilongwe, Malawi. The Malawi Electoral Commission's 2025 register of centres lists "Bwaila Sec School" in its Lilongwe City Council section as a voter registration and polling centre in Mbidzi ward of the Lilongwe City Bwaila constituency. The same register names the school's minor hall as the constituency tally centre for Lilongwe City Bwaila, the point at which the constituency's results are brought together. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Lilongwe falls within the Ministry of Education's Central West Education Division. Lilongwe has been Malawi's capital since 1975, when it replaced Zomba, and had 989,318 residents at the 2018 census. It takes its name from the Lilongwe River. The city is divided into numbered Areas, numbered in the order in which they were laid out, so Area 5 is among the older parts of the city; it lies close to Old Town, which holds the markets and bus stations, while government offices, embassies and hotels are concentrated in the newer City Centre.
