Malo Private Secondary School

Malo Private Secondary School is a privately run secondary school in Mzimba, the headquarters town of Mzimba District in Malawi's Northern Region. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), an examination set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Fee-charging private secondary schools operate alongside government, community day and church-run secondary schools across the country. Mzimba District is the largest district in Malawi, covering 10,473 km². Most of its people are Tumbuka, alongside descendants of the Ngoni who settled the area in the nineteenth century; the district council takes its name, M'mbelwa, from the Ngoni paramount chieftaincy. The town of Mzimba, the district headquarters, had 26,096 residents at the 2018 census, and the surrounding area is largely farmland, including tobacco growing. Mzuzu, the Northern Region's main city, lies within the same district to the north-east. Fees, admission arrangements and term dates have not been published online, and phoning ahead before travelling is advisable.
