About

Malo Private Primary School is a private primary school at Mzimba, the headquarters town of Mzimba District in Malawi's Northern Region. Primary schooling in Malawi runs from Standard 1 to Standard 8 and ends with the primary school leaving certificate examination (PSLCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Tuition has been free in government primary schools since 1994; private schools, which have grown in number across the country, offer families an alternative. Mzimba town had 26,096 residents at the 2018 census. The district it serves as headquarters covers 10,473 square kilometres, making it the largest in Malawi; its biggest town is Mzuzu, the administrative headquarters of the Northern Region, which lies to the north-east. The district takes in the Mzimba Plain, Mount Hora and the Viphya Mountains, and its farmers grow subsistence crops alongside Turkish tobacco as a cash crop. Ngoni communities in the area recognise M'Mbelwa as their paramount chief. Fees, term dates and admission arrangements have not been published online.
