Mchengautuba Secondary School

Mchengautuba Secondary School is a community day secondary school (CDSS) in Mzuzu City, Mzimba District, Malawi. The Malawi Electoral Commission's 2025 register of established voter registration centres lists it as Mchengautuba CDSS, one of three centres in the KazandoNambo ward of the Mzuzu City South West constituency, Mzuzu City Council. The neighbouring Mchengautuba ward, in the same constituency, holds the Mchengautuwa 1 and Mchengautuwa 2 primary schools. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Community day secondary schools grew out of the former distance-education centres, which were converted in 1998; pupils attend daily from the surrounding area rather than boarding. Mzuzu is the capital of Malawi's Northern Region and the country's third-largest city, with 221,272 residents at the 2018 census. It developed from 1947 around the Commonwealth Development Corporation's tung oil estate, received city status in 1985 and is home to Mzuzu University, founded in 1999.
