Star Private Secondary School

Star Private Secondary School is a private secondary school in Mzuzu, in the Mzimba district of northern Malawi. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). The MSCE is the qualification used for entry to university and college. Private secondary schools operate alongside government and community day secondary schools and set their own fees. Mzuzu is the capital of Malawi's Northern Region and the country's third-largest city, with 221,272 residents at the 2018 census. It grew up around the Commonwealth Development Corporation's tung oil estate, begun in 1947, and received city status in 1985. The city is the commercial hub of the north, trading in coffee, timber, fruit, milk and honey, and is home to Mzuzu University, founded in 1999.
