Lilongwe Islamic Secondary School is a secondary school in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Pupils are selected for Form 1 on the results of the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE), which MANEB also sets at the end of Standard 8. Lilongwe replaced Zomba as Malawi's capital in 1975 and is now the country's largest city, with 989,318 residents recorded at the 2018 census. It stands at about 1,050 metres on a plateau in the Central Region, along the Lilongwe River, and is divided into an Old Town of markets, bus stations and restaurants and a newer city of government offices, embassies and hotels.
