Xwabaxwa Camp

Xwabaxwa Camp is a camp at Khwai, in the North-West District of northern Botswana, in the wildlife area between the Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park. The camp's web page sits on the website of Squamater Safaris, which describes itself as "a mobile safari company based in the catchment area of Khwai" and says it designs "both tailor made and scheduled itineraries" for individual travellers and groups. Khwai takes its name from the Khwai River, which flows from the Okavango system and forms part of the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve. The village stands close to the reserve's North Gate and is served by Khwai River Airport. The village community is represented by the Khwai Development Trust, established in April 2000, which describes Khwai as lying to the north of Moremi and to the south of Chobe National Park. Besides its social work in the village, the Trust runs its own community campsites in the area — Magotho, Sable Alley and Matswere — and takes bookings for them directly.
