About

Campers Inn is a campground at Hatsalatladi, a village in Kweneng District, Botswana, about 40 kilometres north of Molepolole. A campground offers pitches where visitors stay in a tent, a rooftop tent or a caravan; facilities vary from one site to another. Hatsalatladi had 609 residents at the 2001 census. Kweneng District is the only district in Botswana without a foreign border, and had 387,983 residents at the 2022 census. It is the historical homeland of the Bakwena, the first group in Botswana to be converted to Christianity by the missionary David Livingstone, and its landmarks include Livingstone's Cave and the Kgosi Sechele I Museum. The district's administrative seat, Molepolole, lies about 50 kilometres west of Gaborone and is the capital of the Bakwena. With 74,674 residents at the 2022 census, it is one of the largest traditional villages in Africa, and it serves as a gateway to the Kalahari. The Scottish Livingstone Hospital is in the village. Campers Inn has not published its facilities, rates or booking arrangements online, so it is worth phoning ahead before travelling.
