Litchenza Community Day Secondary School

Litchenza Community Day Secondary School (Litchenza CDSS) is a community day secondary school in the Litchenza area of Chiradzulu District, in Malawi's Southern Region. Chiradzulu District Council's District Water and Sanitation Strategic Investment Plan (2018–2023), published in November 2018, lists Litchenza CDSS among the secondary schools of the Litchenza education zone, alongside Namipingo CDSS and Mapesi CDSS. The plan recorded an enrolment of 185 at the school, with one borehole and no piped water supply. The same zone includes Litchenza F.P. School, and the Malawi Electoral Commission's 2025 register of centres lists a Litchenza School in the Sakata ward of the Chiradzulu Midima constituency. The school should not be confused with Luchenza CDSS, which the same register places in Luchenza Municipality, the town on the Sena railway in neighbouring Thyolo District. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Community day secondary schools grew out of the former distance-education centres, which were converted into CDSSs in 1998. Chiradzulu District lies in the Shire Highlands of southern Malawi, between Blantyre and Zomba. It covers 761 km² and had 356,875 inhabitants at the 2018 census, and its administrative centre is Chiradzulu Boma.
