Express Microloan Ltd

Express Microloan Ltd is a lending company in Lilongwe, Malawi. Lending to the public in Malawi is regulated under the Microfinance Act, which distinguishes between registered microcredit agencies, licensed non-deposit-taking microfinance institutions and licensed deposit-taking microfinance institutions; only the last may accept deposits from the public. The registers are kept by the Reserve Bank of Malawi, the central bank, which was established in 1964 and has its headquarters in Lilongwe. Lilongwe became Malawi's capital in 1975, replacing Zomba, and is the country's largest city, with 989,318 residents at the 2018 census. It is divided into numbered Areas assigned in the order in which they were developed. The newer city centre on Capital Hill holds government institutions, embassies, hotels and offices, while the Old Town has the markets, bus stations, cafés and restaurants; Kanengo, in the north, is the main industrial area.
