Essa Loans

Essa Loans is a lending business at Corporate Mall on Paul Kagame Road in Lilongwe, Malawi. Lending to the public in Malawi is regulated under the Microfinance Act, which recognises three kinds of lender: registered microcredit agencies, licensed non-deposit-taking microfinance institutions and licensed deposit-taking microfinance institutions. The registers are kept by the Reserve Bank of Malawi, the central bank, which was established in 1964, has its headquarters in Lilongwe and is the only body permitted to issue the Malawian kwacha. Lilongwe became Malawi's capital in 1975, replacing Zomba, and is the country's largest city, with 989,318 residents at the 2018 census. It is split into a New City, which holds government institutions, embassies, hotels and offices, and an Old Town of markets, bus stations and restaurants, and is further divided into numbered Areas assigned in the order in which they were developed. Essa Loans has not published its loan products, interest rates, fees or registration details online; a lender's status can be checked with the Reserve Bank of Malawi before any agreement is signed.
