DMI - St. John the Baptist University is a private, co-educational university in Malawi, established in 2010 and approved by the Government of Malawi on 29 March 2011, accredited by the National Council for Higher Education. Its main campus is at Mangochi, with further campuses in Lilongwe and Blantyre; this record is the Lilongwe campus. The university is run by the Society of Daughters of Mary Immaculate and Collaborators, an Indian Catholic religious organisation founded by Rev. Fr. Dr J.E. Arul Raj, who serves as chancellor. The wider DMI group runs universities in India, Tanzania and Zambia alongside schools, engineering and arts colleges, a polytechnic and hospitals. Teaching is organised into five schools: Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Science and Engineering, Education, and Social Work. Around 43 undergraduate programmes are offered alongside two-year diplomas. Degree subjects include computer science, software engineering, database technologies, multimedia systems, network technologies, infrastructure services and information systems; finance management, human resource management, insurance and banking, international business, operations management, tourism management, e-commerce and advertising and marketing; accounting and finance; community development, medical psychiatric social work and project management; and secondary education in arts and science. The medium of instruction is English. The university holds an articulation agreement with ABMA Education in the United Kingdom, under which ABMA Level 4 maps to first-year degree entry and Levels 5 and 6 to second year or third semester, subject to additional module requirements.
