FDH Bank Plc - Zomba

FDH Bank Plc - Zomba is the Zomba branch of FDH Bank plc, a Malawian commercial bank, in the city of Zomba in Malawi's Southern Region. FDH Bank was established in 2008 as a subsidiary of FDH Financial Holdings Limited, a financial group formed in 2007, and has its head office at Umoyo House, 8 Victoria Avenue North, in Blantyre. In July 2015 FDH Financial Holdings acquired 75 per cent of Malawi Savings Bank, and in July 2016 the merger of FDH Bank and Malawi Savings Bank was completed. By June 2018 the bank reported 53 networked branches and 91 cash machines across all of Malawi's districts. Its shares were floated on the Malawi Stock Exchange in 2020, and the "plc" in its name marks it as a public limited company. Banks in Malawi are licensed and supervised by the Reserve Bank of Malawi. Zomba lies in the Shire Highlands about 75 km from Blantyre by the M3 road. It was the capital of independent Malawi from 1964 until the seat of government moved to Lilongwe in the mid-1970s, and Parliament continued to sit in the town until 1994. It stands at the foot of the Zomba Plateau, which rises to about 1,800 m, and it is home to the main campus of the University of Malawi, long known as Chancellor College.
