Maulidi's Driving School

Maulidi's Driving School is a driving school in Zomba, Malawi. Driving schools in Malawi are regulated under the Road Traffic Act (Cap. 69:01). Section 37 provides that "no person or organization shall act as a driving school unless he or it is licensed", and section 32 bars anyone from acting as a driving instructor and teaching driving for gain without a licence. The Act sets minimum ages for a driving licence: 16 for a motorcycle of up to 125cc, 18 for a light vehicle of up to 3,500 kg, and 21 for heavier vehicles. Driver testing and licensing are the responsibility of the Directorate of Road Traffic and Safety Services (DRTSS), a department of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works that also handles vehicle registration, roadworthiness inspections and axle-load control. Zomba lies at the foot of the Zomba Plateau, about 75 km north of Blantyre. It was Malawi's capital until 1975, when Lilongwe replaced it, and had 105,013 residents at the 2018 census. Course fees, lesson times and the vehicle classes taught have not been published, so these are best confirmed with the school before enrolling.
