Solusi Private Secondary School is a privately run secondary school at Magomero, south of Zomba in Malawi's Southern Region. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Private secondary schools enter candidates for the same MANEB examinations as government schools but set their own fees. Magomero is an estate and village in the Shire Highlands whose name goes back to a village recorded by David Livingstone during his Zambezi expedition. Alexander Low Bruce acquired about 170,000 acres of land through the African Lakes Company, and 162,000 acres of this became the Magomero estate. The estate's headquarters was one of the targets of the Chilembwe uprising of 1915. The proprietor, the year it opened, fees, term dates, boarding arrangements and admission requirements have not been published online, and anyone considering the school would do well to phone ahead before travelling.
