Mountain View Secondary School is a secondary school near Chigumula, south-east of Blantyre city centre, in Malawi's Southern Region. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Pupils are selected for Form 1 on the basis of the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE), taken at the end of Standard 8. Alongside government boarding and day schools and community day secondary schools, many secondary schools in Malawi are run by churches or private owners. Chigumula lies on the south-eastern side of Blantyre and gives its name to two city wards, Chigumula-Club Banana and BCA Hills-Chigumula, which the Malawi Electoral Commission's 2025 register places in the Blantyre City Chigumula-BCA-Club Banana constituency. Blantyre, Malawi's main commercial and industrial city, grew from a Church of Scotland mission founded in 1876 and named after David Livingstone's birthplace in Scotland. It was joined with neighbouring Limbe as a single municipality in 1956. Fees, term dates and admission arrangements have not been published online, so phoning ahead before travelling is advisable.
