Mount Olive CCAP Church is a congregation of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) in Blantyre, Malawi. The CCAP grew from three missions: the Free Church of Scotland in northern Malawi (1875), the Church of Scotland at Blantyre (1876) and the Cape Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church in central Malawi (1889). The churches they founded united on 17 September 1924. The CCAP now has five synods: Livingstonia in the north of Malawi, Nkhoma in the centre and Blantyre in the south, with the Zambia and Harare synods outside the country. The Blantyre Synod, the CCAP synod for southern Malawi, traces its origins to the Blantyre Mission, which the Church of Scotland founded in 1876 on a site suggested by David Livingstone. Responsibility for the church passed from Scottish missionaries to African leaders from the late 1920s. The city of Blantyre, which grew up around that mission and takes its name from Livingstone's Scottish birthplace, is Malawi's second-largest city and its main centre of finance and commerce, with 800,264 residents at the 2018 census. Service times, the congregation's presbytery and contact details have not been published online, so visitors are advised to ask locally.
