Megha Events Garden

Megha Events Garden is an events garden on the S124 road in Lilongwe, Malawi, west of the city centre. The S124 is one of Malawi's secondary roads; the national network is classified into main (M), secondary (S), tertiary (T) and district (D) roads. Lilongwe has been Malawi's capital since 1975, when it replaced Zomba, and had 989,318 residents at the 2018 census, up from 674,448 in 2008. It takes its name from the Lilongwe River and began as a boma set up by the local leader Njewa around 1902. The city divides broadly into the Old Town, with its markets and bus stations, and the newer City Centre, where hotels, embassies and government offices are concentrated. Its neighbourhoods are known by numbered Areas, which were assigned in the order they were laid out rather than by position.
