Valley Academy, Lobatse

Valley Academy is a primary school in Lobatse, a town in south-eastern Botswana. In Botswana, primary education runs from Standard 1 to Standard 7 and ends with the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). Pupils then move to junior secondary school for Forms 1 to 3, which end with the Junior Certificate Examination (JCE), and on to senior secondary school, which ends with the Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE). All three examinations are set by the Botswana Examinations Council (BEC). Lobatse lies about 70 km south of Gaborone on the A1 road, close to the border with South Africa, and is one of the country's older towns. It is the headquarters of the Botswana Meat Commission, whose abattoir has long been central to the national beef export trade, and it houses a division of the High Court of Botswana. The Lobatse Clay Works, a brick maker, is also based in the town. The school has not published its fees, admission arrangements or the classes it currently teaches online, so parents are advised to contact it before visiting.
