Totalsports - Francistown

Totalsports Francistown is a sportswear shop at Shop 62, Galo Mall, on the corner of St Patrick and Guy Streets in Francistown, Botswana. It trades under Totalsports, a sports retail brand of the South African retail group TFG. TFG describes Totalsports as a seller of sports apparel, footwear and equipment for athletes and sports enthusiasts, aimed at men and women of all age groups, and gives the brand's outlet count as 333, within its TFG Africa segment. TFG Limited, formerly The Foschini Group, was founded in 1924 and is based in Cape Town. Listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, it has more than 3,000 stores in Africa, the United Kingdom and Australia. In Botswana it trades through Foschini (Botswana) (Pty) Ltd; a November 2020 decision of the Competition and Consumer Authority describes the group's Botswana business as covering clothing, jewellery, cell phones, accessories, cosmetics, sporting apparel and equipment, homeware and furniture in the country's larger urban centres. Its other brands include Sportscene, Markham, Foschini, Jet, @home and American Swiss. Francistown is Botswana's second-largest city, with 103,417 residents at the 2022 census. It was founded in 1897 as a settlement near the Monarch mine and named after the English prospector Daniel Francis; gold had been found nearby in 1869. The city lies at the confluence of the Tati and Ntshe rivers, about 400 kilometres north-north-east of Gaborone and 90 kilometres from the border with Zimbabwe, and a railway links it with Bulawayo and Harare.
