Liquorama West Gate

Liquorama West Gate is a liquor store at West Gate in Gaborone, Botswana. Retail liquor sales in Botswana are licensed under the Liquor Act. Notices from the ministry responsible for trade, published by the government's Daily News in 2019 and 2020, set out that a bottle store licence covers sales to the public for consumption off the premises and that no bottle store may open on a Sunday. Gaborone was founded as a planned capital in 1964 and became the seat of government in 1965, the year before independence. It lies in the south-east of Botswana, within 15 kilometres of the South African border, and the 2022 census counted 246,325 residents, about a tenth of the country's population. Trading hours, prices and a contact number for the West Gate branch have not been published online.
