Legit Store Francistown

Legit Store Francistown is a branch of Legit, a chain of ladies' fashion and footwear stores, in the Industrial Area of Francistown, Botswana. Legit is owned by the South African retail group Pepkor. Legit's own website presents the brand as a ladies' fashion retailer and offers dresses, jeans, tops, shoes, bags, jewellery, watches, make-up and skincare. Pepkor describes Legit as a "ladies fashion apparel and footwear retailer offering inspiration, quality and value", aimed at youthful, trend-conscious and value-conscious customers. In March 2025 Pepkor announced that it would buy Legit, together with the Swagga, Style and Boardmans businesses, from Retailability; the businesses had stores in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Eswatini. Pepkor's interim results for the first half of its 2026 financial year report Legit, Swagga and Style as acquisitions within its Speciality division. Pepkor was founded in 1965 and is based in Cape Town; listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange since September 2017, it is the largest retail operator in southern Africa by number of stores, and its other brands include PEP, Ackermans, Shoe City, Tekkie Town, Incredible Connection and HiFi Corp. Francistown is Botswana's second-largest city, with 103,417 residents at the 2022 census. It was founded in 1897 as a settlement near the Monarch mine and named after the English prospector Daniel Francis; gold had been found nearby in 1869. The city lies at the confluence of the Tati and Ntshe rivers, about 400 kilometres north-north-east of Gaborone and 90 kilometres from the border with Zimbabwe, and a railway links it with Bulawayo and Harare. Legit has not published a street address or telephone number for the Francistown store.
