JB Sports

JB Sports is a sportswear store on the A1 highway in Palapye, in the Central District of Botswana. Palapye lies on the A1, the main road between Gaborone and Francistown, roughly halfway between the two: about 240 km from Gaborone and 170 km from Francistown. The national railway also runs through the town. The 2022 census counted 52,398 residents, up from 37,256 in 2011. Old Palapye, or Phalatswe, at the western end of the Tswapong Hills, was the Bamangwato capital under Khama III until 1902; the name derives from the impala. Modern Palapye is home to the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), whose campus on the Tswapong Hills opened in 2012, and to the Morupule colliery, which supplies the neighbouring Morupule A and B power stations.
