Choppies Tlokweng-3, Royal Aria

Choppies Tlokweng-3, Royal Aria is a branch of the Choppies supermarket chain in Tlokweng, South-East District, Botswana. Choppies Enterprises Limited was founded in 1986 by the Chopdat family, starting with a single store, Wayside Supermarket, in Lobatse. The group is headquartered in Gaborone and sells groceries and household goods, including its own private-label products. It listed on the Botswana Stock Exchange in January 2012 and on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in May 2015. After expanding across southern and eastern Africa, it closed its stores in South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya and Tanzania in 2020. Tlokweng is a large village immediately east of Gaborone, on the far side of the Notwane River from the capital, and falls under the South East District Council. The Tlokweng border post with South Africa lies about 15 km to the east. The 2011 census recorded 35,982 people.
