The Pet Shop is a pet shop at the Airport Junction shopping centre in the north of Gaborone, Botswana. It runs Facebook and Instagram pages under the handle petshopbw. Airport Junction stands at the junction of Airport Road and the A1 highway and opened in April 2012. It is one of the three largest shopping centres in Gaborone, with about 45,800 square metres of floor space spread across four buildings. Its anchor tenants at opening included a Shoprite supermarket, an Edgars department store and a Builders Warehouse, and later arrivals included Botswana's first Virgin Active gym and first Dis-Chem pharmacy. Gaborone has been Botswana's capital since independence in 1966. The city was built from the early 1960s as a new seat of government and takes its name from Kgosi Gaborone of the Batlokwa. The shop's stock, prices and any services have not been published online, and phoning ahead before travelling is advisable.
