Thawale II Primary School is a primary school in the Thawale area of Mulanje District, in Malawi's Southern Region. The Malawi Electoral Commission's 2025 register of centres for Mulanje District Council lists two centres named "Thawale School": one in the Chitakale ward of the Mulanje South constituency and one in the Nambilanje ward of Mulanje West. Neither entry carries the "II" designation. In Malawi, primary education runs from Standard 1 to Standard 8 and ends with the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Tuition has been free in government primary schools since 1994. Mulanje District covers 2,056 square kilometres and had 428,322 inhabitants at the 2018 census. It is known for its tea-growing industry and for Mount Mulanje, whose Sapitwa Peak, at 3,002 metres, is the highest point in Malawi. The district headquarters, Mulanje town, lies about 69 kilometres by road south-east of Blantyre. The school has not published a telephone number, term dates or admission arrangements online, so enquiries are best made at the school in person.
