Shreeji Spice Shop is an Indian grocery and spice shop in the Limbe area of Blantyre, Malawi. Limbe, about 11 km east of central Blantyre, merged with Blantyre in 1956 to form one city. It is the operational headquarters and workshop of Malawi's railways, and during its development in the early 1900s Indian wholesale and retail shops opened throughout the town; by the First World War Blantyre's population included a community of South Asian traders. Blantyre was founded as a Church of Scotland mission in 1876 and named after the birthplace of the explorer David Livingstone in Scotland. It lies in the Shire Highlands of southern Malawi, is the country's second-largest city and its centre of finance and commerce, and had 800,264 inhabitants at the 2018 census.
