Shoprite Chichiri

Shoprite Chichiri is a Shoprite supermarket at Chichiri Shopping Mall on Masauko Chipembere Highway in Blantyre, Malawi. Shoprite is the supermarket chain of the Shoprite Group, a South African food retailer founded in 1979 and headquartered in Cape Town, which also trades in a number of other African countries. Chichiri is an area of Blantyre next to Ginnery Corner. Besides the shopping mall, it is home to Kamuzu Stadium, Malawi's second-largest stadium, and to the Chichiri Museum, and several of the city's tertiary institutions are clustered in the Chichiri and Ginnery Corner area. Blantyre grew from a Church of Scotland mission established in 1876 and takes its name from the Scottish birthplace of the explorer David Livingstone. It was merged with its sister town, Limbe, in 1956, and although Lilongwe is the political capital, Blantyre remains Malawi's centre of finance and commerce. The 2018 census recorded 800,264 people in the city. A telephone number for the Chichiri store has not been published, and trading hours are worth confirming before a special journey.
