SBT Malawi – Blantyre Office is a used-vehicle sales office in Blantyre, Malawi, trading under the name of SBT, a Japanese exporter of used cars. It is on the second floor of Galaxy House, in Room 2 of the South Wing, opposite the AXA bus terminal. SBT describes itself as a Japanese used car dealer in business since 1993 that has exported some 500,000 used cars to 152 countries. Its Malawi page explains that vehicles are shipped roll-on/roll-off to the ports of Dar es Salaam or Durban and then delivered inland by a freight partner, with delivery charges quoted to cities including Blantyre. The same page notes that Malawi sets no age limit on imported vehicles, but that those manufactured more than eight years earlier are heavily taxed through duty and excise, and it refers buyers to the Malawi Revenue Authority for duty estimates.
