Mthawira Primary School is a primary school at Malomo, in the north of Ntchisi District in Malawi's Central Region. Primary education in Malawi runs from Standard 1 to Standard 8 and ends with the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB); the results determine selection for secondary school. Tuition has been free in government primary schools since 1994, a policy that brought a sharp rise in enrolment. It is known for the Ntchisi Forest Reserve on Ntchisi Mountain, near the district headquarters, which holds one of Malawi's remaining areas of indigenous evergreen forest.
