Liberty Liquor Centre is a liquor shop in Limbe, Blantyre, Malawi. Limbe lies about 11 km east of central Blantyre. Founded in 1909, it merged with Blantyre in 1956 and has long been the operational headquarters and workshop of the national railway. It is a busy trading centre, known for its Indian traders and, more recently, for a growing number of Chinese-owned businesses. Blantyre is Malawi's centre of finance and commerce and its second-largest city, with 800,264 residents at the 2018 census. It was founded in 1876 as a Church of Scotland mission and named after Blantyre in Scotland, the birthplace of David Livingstone.
