Labcare Private Diagnostic Laboratory

Labcare Private Diagnostic Laboratory is a privately run diagnostic laboratory in Lilongwe, Malawi. Diagnostic laboratories analyse samples such as blood and urine, usually at the request of a doctor or clinic, and report the results back for diagnosis and treatment. In Malawi, private laboratories work alongside the laboratory services of the government's central and district hospitals; in Lilongwe the main public referral hospital is Kamuzu Central Hospital. Lilongwe, on the Lilongwe River in the Central Region, replaced Zomba as Malawi's capital in 1975 and is now the country's largest city. The city is laid out in numbered areas, with the Old Town beside the river and the government offices of Capital Hill to the north-east. The laboratory has not published a list of tests, prices, opening hours or a website. Phoning ahead to confirm the location and the tests offered before travelling is advisable.
