Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Lilongwe is a place of worship of Jehovah's Witnesses in Lilongwe, Malawi. A Kingdom Hall is the meeting place of one or more local congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses. Congregations usually meet there on two days each week for Bible readings, public talks and the study of articles from The Watchtower magazine, and some halls have more than one auditorium so that several congregations can meet at the same time. No collection is taken at meetings; halls have contribution boxes for voluntary donations instead. Halls are generally built by volunteer Witnesses to standard designs. In Malawi the denomination is represented by the Association of Jehovah's Witnesses, whose branch office is at Area 32, Plot 38, off John Chilembwe Road, Lilongwe. The office, open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00, is an administrative centre rather than a congregation meeting place. The Witnesses were banned in Malawi from 1967 until 1993, during the one-party rule of Hastings Banda. Lilongwe became Malawi's capital in 1975, replacing Zomba, and is the country's largest city, with 989,318 people at the 2018 census.
