About

HMS Foods and Grains Limited is a flour mill at Area 28/93 in Kanengo, Lilongwe, Malawi. Kanengo, in the north of Lilongwe, is the city's main industrial area. Food processing, tobacco storage and sales, maize storage and other light industry are concentrated there. Maize is Malawi's staple food crop, and most of it is eaten as nsima, a stiff porridge made from maize flour, which makes maize milling central to the country's food supply. Lilongwe became Malawi's capital in 1975, replacing Zomba, and is now the country's largest city, with 989,318 people at the 2018 census. The city is divided into numbered Areas from 1 to 58. The numbers follow the order in which the Areas were created rather than their position on the map. The city also divides into the New City, with government offices, embassies and hotels, and the Old Town, with its markets and bus stations. HMS Foods and Grains Limited has not published its products, prices or sales arrangements online, so buyers should telephone before calling at the mill.
