Chihame II CDSS

Chihame II CDSS is a community day secondary school in the Chihame area of Nkhata Bay District, in Malawi's Northern Region, south of Mzuzu. The Malawi Electoral Commission's 2025 register of centres lists Chihame II F.P. School, a full primary school sharing the Chihame II name, as a centre in the Kavuzi ward of the Nkhata Bay West constituency, under Nkhata Bay District Council; Chihame I F.P. School appears in the Chintheche ward of the Nkhata Bay Chintheche constituency. Nkhata Bay District Council's socio-economic profile for 2017–2022 names Chihame among the parts of the district where soil erosion is prominent. Secondary education in Malawi runs from Form 1 to Form 4 and ends with the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), set by the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). Community day secondary schools grew out of the former distance-education centres, which were converted into CDSSs in 1998. Nkhata Bay District is bounded on the east by Lake Malawi, and its western part lies in the Viphya Mountains. Most people in the district farm, with cassava the main crop alongside groundnuts, bananas and maize, while lakeshore communities depend on fishing. Chitonga and Chitumbuka are the main languages.
