CCAP Nkhoma Synod Lilongwe City Secretariat

CCAP Nkhoma Synod Lilongwe City Secretariat is an administrative office of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Nkhoma Synod in Lilongwe, Malawi. As a secretariat, it is an office rather than a congregation or place of worship. The Nkhoma Synod is one of the five synods of the CCAP, alongside Blantyre, Livingstonia, Zambia and Harare, and serves the Central Region of Malawi. It began in 1889 as a mission of the Cape Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa, based first at Mvera and later at Nkhoma, and joined the CCAP in 1926, two years after the Blantyre and Livingstonia synods had united to form the church. The synod's headquarters are at Nkhoma, about 55 km from Lilongwe. Its institutions include Nkhoma Hospital, a network of health centres and the Nkhoma College of Nursing, and it is a member of the World Communion of Reformed Churches. Lilongwe has been Malawi's capital since 1975 and is its largest city, with 989,318 residents at the 2018 census. It lies in the Central Region, the synod's home area.
