Apule Driving School

Apule Driving School is a driving school on Hanover Avenue in Blantyre, Malawi. Driving schools in Malawi are regulated under the Road Traffic Act (Cap. 69:01). The Act provides that "no person or organization shall act as a driving school unless he or it is licensed", and that no one may act as a driving instructor and teach driving for gain without a licence. It also sets minimum ages for holding a driving licence: 16 for a motorcycle of up to 125cc, 18 for a light vehicle of up to 3,500 kg, and 21 for heavier vehicles. Driver testing and licensing are the responsibility of the Directorate of Road Traffic and Safety Services (DRTSS), the government body in charge of road safety and road traffic regulation, which also handles vehicle registration, roadworthiness inspection and axle-load control. Blantyre was founded in 1876 through the missionary work of the Church of Scotland and named after the Scottish birthplace of David Livingstone. It is Malawi's centre of finance and commerce and its second-largest city, with 800,264 residents at the 2018 census. Course fees, lesson times and the vehicle classes taught are best confirmed with the school before enrolling.
