Al-Falah Girls Islamic Institute is an Islamic educational institute for girls in Zomba, Malawi. Its name draws on the Arabic word falah, meaning success or prosperity, which is familiar to Muslims from the call to prayer. Zomba has a long-established Muslim community, drawn largely from Yao Muslims and from Malawians of Indian descent, and the city's main mosque stands close to the market. Zomba was the capital of Nyasaland and then of independent Malawi until the mid-1970s, when Lilongwe took over that role; Parliament continued to sit there until 1994. The city lies in the Shire Highlands of the Southern Region, below the Zomba Plateau, which rises to about 1,800 m. It is home to Chancellor College, now the University of Malawi, and recorded 105,013 residents at the 2018 census. The institute has not published its level of teaching, curriculum, admission arrangements or contact details online.
