Woolworths Kasane

Woolworths Kasane is a Woolworths store at Shop 22A in the New Hunters Africa Complex, Kasane, Chobe District, Botswana. Woolworths is the retail chain of the South African group Woolworths Holdings Limited. Woolworths Holdings traces the chain to 1931, when Max Sonnenberg opened the first Woolworths store in Cape Town. The business is organised into two divisions: Food, and Fashion, Beauty and Home. In a statement issued in June 2014, the group said Woolworths had been present in Botswana for over 26 years, with 22 stores in the country, and that it was changing its Botswana business model from franchise to corporate stores; the same statement announced lower food and clothing prices there. Kasane is the main town of Chobe District. It lies on the south bank of the Chobe River at the north-eastern edge of Chobe National Park, and is a common starting point for visits to the park. Kazungula, where the Kazungula Bridge crosses into Zambia, is about 8 km to the east, close to the point where Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe meet. The town is served by Kasane Airport and had 9,244 residents at the 2011 census. Woolworths has not published trading hours or contact details for the Kasane store online.
