Seabueng Attorneys

Seabueng Attorneys is a law firm in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana. Legal practice in Botswana is governed by the Legal Practitioners Act of 1996, the statute that also established the Law Society of Botswana. According to the Law Society, no one may practise as a legal practitioner unless they have been admitted, their name is on the roll and they hold a practising certificate issued by the Registrar of the High Court. Certificates expire at the end of every year, and all practising lawyers are required to be members of the Law Society. Gaborone was founded in 1964 as a planned capital, and the Bechuanaland Protectorate administration moved there from Mafeking the following year, ahead of independence on 30 September 1966. The city lies between Kgale Hill and Oodi Hill, within 15 km of the South African border, and is home to the National Assembly, the Botswana Stock Exchange and the headquarters of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). It had 246,325 residents at the 2022 census.
