PEP Home Francistown Galo

PEP Home Francistown Galo is a home goods store trading under the PEP Home name at Galo Shopping Centre on St Patrick Street, Francistown, Botswana. PEP is a discount retail chain founded in 1965 in De Aar, South Africa, by Renier van Rooyen, who had opened his first bargain shop in Upington in 1955. It is a subsidiary of the Pepkor group and operates around 1,800 stores across 11 countries in southern Africa. PEP Home is the chain's homeware format; PEP's own store finder lists PEP Home branches separately from PEP and PEP Cell stores. Francistown, established in 1897, is Botswana's second-largest city, with about 103,400 inhabitants at the 2022 census. It grew out of the Tati goldfields, whose publicising by the prospector Karl Mauch in 1867 began southern Africa's first gold rush, and it is named after Daniel Francis, an English prospector who obtained prospecting licences in the area in 1869.
