OK Furniture Palapye

OK Furniture Palapye is a furniture store trading under the OK Furniture name at Shop 17, Engen Centre, in Palapye, Botswana. OK Furniture is one of the retail brands of the Shoprite Group, the South African retailer founded in 1979 and headquartered in Cape Town. The chain's website, okfurniture.co.za, sells furniture, appliances, electronics and homeware to the South African market. Palapye is a town in Botswana's Central District on the A1 highway, the main road linking Gaborone and Francistown. It lies roughly halfway between the two, about 240 km from Gaborone and 170 km from Francistown, and the national railway also passes through it. The 2022 census counted 52,398 residents, up from 37,256 in 2011. The area is home to the Morupule Colliery, which supplies Morupule Power Station, Botswana's principal domestic source of electricity, and to the campus of the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST), which enrolled its first students in 2012. The Bamangwato under Kgosi Khama III had their capital at Phalatswe, near present-day Palapye, from 1889 to 1902.
