Matshwane Clinic is a health clinic in Maun, the administrative centre of Botswana's North-West District, also known as Ngamiland. Botswana's public primary health care network, run by the Ministry of Health, is organised in tiers. The ministry describes mobile stops, which have no permanent building and are visited by a nurse; health posts, staffed by a nurse with visits from a midwife, doctor and other specialists; and clinics, staffed by a doctor, nurses, a midwife and pharmacy, laboratory and radiology technicians. Maun was founded in 1915 as the tribal capital of the Batawana and had 85,293 residents at the 2022 census. It stretches along the Thamalakane River at the south-eastern edge of the Okavango Delta and is the main service town for Ngamiland, linked to Francistown by the A3 highway.
